Oscars
I have been reading about the Oscars...Bette Davis and Stephen Spielberg etc..etc..were all passed over recently or years ago....
I have been passed over every single year....I do not wait to hear those nominations .I know the Name Mark Rimmell will not be amongst them...
The roll od the Production Buyer does not figure...
He is history as the credits roll.
That trip to Bogota loaded with tens of thousands of dollars and no bodyguard...Was that stupidity or courage???
The boat ride down the Magdalena River in search of those special items mentioned by Gabriel Garcia Marquez in 'Love in The Time of Cholera'....My pockets bulging with those cut your throat for dollars....
The dark Alley ways of Marrakesh, Istanbul, Cairo.....
Surely one deserves an inch high golden Oscar.......or at least a thabk you......
The only time I received a 'thank you for all the work you did' was from Marlon Brando and Sophia Loren on ;Countess from Hong Kong'....It took Charlie Chaplin the director , who happened to be in the office, to tell them that I was just a visitor..and had nothing to do with there latest movie....
I did however got to hear how a 'Thank you' sounded'...
It sounded good...and I was quite prepared to forgive them for there slight mistake and take the credit....
Now I await the Oscars ...March 7th.
Now that I am not creeping the alleys of Bogota,Marrakesh, India , Istanbul etc...
I await the thanks I hope of a few nominees who will wear my 'Jewells for Film and Fashion'...
Pearl, Rubies, Emeralds.Amethysts , silver ,Lapiz ,Amber bought from those very dodgy alleys and now converted into my own unique pieces...(Sorry to boast).....
It is my way of saying thank you to myself for being sensible enough at 75 years old to create something that might,just might elicit a 'thank you..'
I promsie I will not shed tears, .I will not explode into a Tsnunami of emotion...
'I shall eagerly wait ,like millions more for that moment 'and the winner is........' and secretly wish that the Golden figure could be mine just for a moment...
